Brethren, are we spiritually diligent?  Are we clearing our reputation with God and others?  Do we hate the sins we once tolerated?  Do we have a reverent fear of falling short?  Do we burn with desire to please God?  Are we zealous in our pursuit of righteousness?  Are we showing fruits that vindicate our change? If these traits are present and growing in us, then our repentance is real—and effective.
