:  The subject of faith can be confusing when we compare Paul's writings with the writings of James.  A complete understanding of faith tells us that faith, only the second elementary principle in God's plan of salvation, comes before we receive God's Spirit through the laying on of hands.  Paul speaks to the faith that leads to righteous actions; James explains that faith without those righteous actions is dead.  James tells us what kind of doers we will be in using our ears, tongues and emotions.
