Sacrifice was a total system of belief established by the Jews in error. Christ pointed this out to them in scripture so that we could learn what it means to be merciful in our attitudes rather than condemning others for not believing or obeying as we do. We must obey God in all things but our hearts must be merciful and considerate to all as we wait for His kingdom.
