Why did Christ have to suffer so much before He quickly died from a soldier's spear wound?  It seems strange that God would require Him to be mutilated beyond recognition only for our physical healing in this lifetime since we all must eventually die a physical death anyway.  You might be surprised to learn what His example of suffering has to do with our Christian living.
